They say ‘life is about the little things’, what’s a little thing that’s had a big impact on your career?

There are many ‘little things’ that have impacted my life/career path. First of all, my parents, seeing how hard they worked and still made giving back a priority, instilled the importance of those values in me. Second, trust—having leadership that puts trust in their team, allowing for learning and growth. I have worked for some great leaders and in those roles, learned and grown the most. Third, do the hard things—3 weeks after graduating, I packed up my car and drove to South Carolina to work as an Americorps member for Habitat for Humanity. It was scary, lonely, exciting and hard, but I learned a lot about myself and met some amazing people along the way.
