Overview
Located in the heart of Walker’s Point, Taxco pays homage to the Hispanic roots of the neighborhood through its name which translates to “where the father of the water is”. The building’s design reflects the warehouse-style aesthetic of the area using a palette of brick and metal. Our client involved the community early on with the integration of two custom art murals. The murals tie Taxco into the neighboring Zocalo Food Park. The first mural is a six-story-tall depiction of the music & cultural icon Selena, painted by well-known muralist Mauricio Ramirez. The ground floor of the building is lined with murals made possible by the talented students of Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). Taxco’s robust amenity package is unique for the area, contributing to leases being signed well before construction wrapped up.
