Exterior of Veritas Village, a multifamily development in Madison, WI | Designed by JLA Architects

Veritas Village

Overview

Tucked in the historic Old Market Place neighborhood on Madison’s isthmus is Veritas Village. The building’s two distinctly different facades cleverly address the historic neighborhood to the west and the hustle and bustle of the revitalized East Washington Avenue corridor. The east wing was designed with a contemporary aesthetic consisting of CMU, brick, and fiber cement panel siding. Whereas the west wing was designed with a more traditional aesthetic consisting primarily of CMU and brick. To reduce the perceived massing of the building from the street level, the fourth-floor footprint was stepped back in several areas creating rooftop terraces that are used as patios for some of the units. Dark siding was also used in these areas to diminish their visual impact.
